Bread Uppuma | Easy and Quick | Homemade | Simple & Healthy recipe

Dish name: – Bread Uppuma.

You can make it for breakfast or an evening snack or for those quick hungry. It is a healthy dish and can be made in few minutes. For making this you can opt for any bread it can be multi-grain or brown bread or paw or bread loaf also.

Preparation time: – 10 minutes.

Cooking time: – 10 minutes.

Serves: – 1- 2 people. (I have used 6 white bread slices)


• White bread slice – 6 nos.

• Whole red chilli – 1 no.

• Curry leaves – few sprigs.

• Mustard seed – half teaspoon

• Ginger – half an inch.

• Onion – 1 no.

• Chana dal – 1 tablespoon.

• Urad dal – 1 tablespoon.

Methods: –

• Now heat the pan, pour 4 tablespoons of ghee, add mustard seeds and sauté in medium flame for one minute.

• Before mustard starts crackling add chana dal, urad dal, chopped ginger, chopped onions and add red chilli, mix well and cover it for 2-3 minutes.

• Once onion is slightly brown then add curry leaves and sauté again.

• Now break the bread slice into pieces, add the bread pieces into the pan.

• Then add 2 spoons of ghee and sauté again.

• Now pour little water or sprinkle water, sauté again and add salt to taste.

• Add chop coriander and curry leaves.

• Mix it well.

• For garnish use grated coconut and it is ready to serve.
