Dish name: – Raw mango chutney or Pachha manga chammanthi in Kerala style.

Mango is a “king of fruits” and it is the national fruit of India.

This edible stone fruit varies in size, shape, sweetness, skin color, and flesh color which may be pale yellow, gold & orange.

Raw mango or Kacchi Kairi, the name is sufficient to stimulate our taste buds.

It has many health benefits like preventing dehydration, it cures many stomach disorders like constipation, bloating, indigestion and diarrhoea.

It is a rich source of vitamin c, calcium, and magnesium which is useful for releasing toxins from the body. It is an excellent source of immunity booster.

Here I am taking raw mango for making chutney or chammanthi.

Preparation time: – 10 minutes.

Serves: – 2- 3 people.

Ingredients:-

• Raw Mango – 1 small

• Shallots / Small Onion / Pearl Onion – 1 small.

• Curry leaves- 2 leaves

• Green chilli – 1 no.

• Roasted Red Chilli – 2nos.

• Grated coconut – 1 cup

• Salt – to taste.

Methods: –

• Now take the mango and partially peel it and cut it into small cubes for the easy grind.

• Take a small mixer jar to grind roasted red chilli, green chilli, and raw mango.

• Occasionally mix the mango mixture with a spoon for better grinding.

• Add small onion and grated coconut in the mix.

• Now add salt and curry leaves.

• While grinding the mixture make sure that it should not be a paste.

• If the mango is very sour add a pinch of sugar to balance the taste.

• Now it is ready to serve.

It is best served with traditional kanji (rice gruel/porridge/ rice soup), papadum, and manga chammanthi.
